Facilities & Resources — Solihull Sixth Form College

Facilities & Resources

One of the ways we aid your learning experience at the College is by providing state-of-the-art facilities and high quality resources.

New for June 2020 was a sustainably built Science & Study Centre. The Hamilton Centre was built during lockdown using 100% recycled materials and now houses Chemistry and Applied Science, with independent study spaces available for all students to use.

There is an excellent Library and Learning Centre, with more than 30,000 resources, including books, DVDs, computers, and scanners. With a backdrop of parkland, it provides a tranquil setting for you to study.

While all students benefit from these amenities, you will also profit from areas dedicated to your areas of study. This means that science subjects have specialist laboratories, modern languages boast multi-media language labs and dance operates in a modern dance studio. Classrooms also have IT facilities and data projectors aiding a range of teaching methods.

Recent additions to the campus include refurbished studios for Drama and Performing Arts, as well as outstanding Music facilities, including a recording studio. A new Art & Design School has also been opened in recent years and this houses a range of Art and Design options with specialist resources.

In short, whatever courses you choose to study, you can be confident that you will be working in an environment that is designed specifically to help you to succeed.
