Twilight Taster Sessions

Twilight Taster SessionsTwilight Taster sessions are short events after school, usually lasting one hour. They give you the opportunity to try out a course before you make an application to see if it would interest you. At The Sixth Form College, Solihull, held twilight taster sessions throughout November 2018 in the following subjects:

Accounting
Ancient History
Childcare & Education
Criminology
English Language
Geography & Geology
Health & Social Care
Modern Languages (French, German, Russian, Spanish)
Music
Philosophy & Religious Studies
Politics
Psychology
Visual Arts (Fine Art, Graphics, Photography, BTEC Art & Design)

You will notice there are not tasters in all our courses. For those courses not offering taster sessions, please note you will get a chance to learn more about them at Welcome to College Day in June 2019. This is an event that every student with an offer will be invited to.

You can also learn more about our courses at our Spring Talks & Tours events on Thursday 28 February and Tuesday 5 March 2019 – find out more on our Open Days page.

At the Spring Talks & Tours, prospective students and parents are invited to listen to a talk by Principal Martin Sullivan or Vice Principal Janice Hamilton and get a tour of the College. There are two sessions on each evening, as follows:

Session 1 – talk at 5.00pm, tour at 5.30pm
Session 2 – talk at 6.00pm, tour at 6.30pm

You will be required to book onto a specific session when you book and it is necessary for us to know what courses you are interested in when you book. This allows us to match up students of similar subject interests into tour groups and, where possible, allocate a guide with more knowledge of those subjects.

BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL – YOU CANNOT SIMPLY TURN UP ON THE NIGHT!
