100% Attendance Celebrated

Students at The Sixth Form College, Solihull are being commended for achieving 100% attendance.

More than 120 students have achieved that feat this year, attending every single lesson on their timetables and demonstrating outstanding commitment to their studies.

College Principal Paul Ashdown said, “This is great news! The Sixth Form College, Solihull is not just about top grades, it is about effort and commitment. The staff here at the College are dedicated to helping students reach that potential and it is wonderful to see so many students mirroring that dedication and determination to succeed. I am also delighted to see that overall attendance is steadily improving as well and is now at more than 90%

“We have a commendation scheme at the College, which allows staff to put students forward for special recognition. Achieving 100% attendance certainly merits special recognition and I am delighted to be meeting all these students to personally convey how proud and impressed we are with their efforts.”

These students are studying a variety of courses, including A level programmes and BTEC Extended Diploma programmes. We have 43 subjects to choose from at A level, plus nine applied courses, providing students with a huge choice of courses to study.

The College will be officially celebrating student achievement later in the year, when the Student Awards Evening takes place at the Renewal Conference Centre on Lode Lane. This event takes place on Thursday 30 June 2011 at 7.00pm.
