Staff Wellbeing Week — Solihull Sixth Form College

Staff Wellbeing Week

Staff at Solihull Sixth Form College have been taking care of their mental health with a Wellbeing Week.

The College Health and Wellbeing Team worked with the Student Development Team to put together a programme of activities for staff to enjoy at the end of the summer term. These activities included yoga, crochet, tai-chi, badminton, tennis, botanical casting and essential oils workshops. There was a film screening, a Mindfullness Workshop, games in the staff room, a 7km walk and an Asian Afternoon tea.

Leading the College’s Staff Health & Wellbeing Group is Gavin Shephard. He also introduced staff to meditation in the Headspace Room and was delighted to see staff taking advantage of the many and varied activities.

He commented:

“The academic year is always so busy, but it’s important that staff take time to care for their own wellbeing too. I’m grateful to those staff who led wellbeing activities for the benefit of their colleagues and to everyone who took part. It was a great success.”
