The Sports department at Solihull Sixth Form College has a new piece of silverware to add to the trophy cabinet, following success for the rugby team.
The Rugby Team, run with the aid of resources from Moseley Rugby Club, won a Rugby 10s tournament at Stourbridge Rugby Football Club recently. They defeated both King Edward’s Stourbridge Sixth Form and Invictus School in two highly competitive games to claim first place in the Rugby 10s tournament at Stourbridge Rugby Football Club.
Rugby Manager, Gavin Shephard commented:
“It was a terrific team effort and a great way to finish the season on a high. I would like to thank the Year 13 players for their commitment and endeavour over the last two years at College. I look forward to welcoming new players to the squad in September to add to our promising core of existing Year 12 players going forward.”
Curriculum Leader for Sport & Health Lee Jones at the College added his congratulations:
“All our sports teams have conducted themselves professionally and enthusiastically this season and it is great to see the rugby team getting just reward for their efforts. Congratulations to the players and the coaching staff.”
