Final Open Evening Approaching — Solihull Sixth Form College

Final Open Evening Approaching

Teachers at Solihull Sixth Form College will be meeting prospective learners and parents at an Open Evening on Monday 22 January, in what will be the final open event of this academic year before the application deadline.

Year 11 students looking for a college place for September 2024 have until 31 March to make their applications for the best chance to get a place. Open events were held at the College in October and November and attracted high attendance as GCSE learners researched their post-16 options. Current students on our A level, BTEC and T level courses joined their teachers to talk to applicants about the courses we can offer.

This final open evening of the year takes place from 5.00pm – 8.00pm, with a last entry time of 7.00pm. Free timed entry tickets are available via Eventbrite and advanced booking is essential.

College Principal Martin Sullivan commented:

“Solihull Sixth Form College is an aspirational destination for learners across Birmingham and Solihull. We offer a very wide range of subjects for students to choose from and have a superb track record for helping our learners to progress onto positive destinations, which for the majority of students is university. For those learners who have not yet applied for their college place, I urge them to come along to this last open evening, speak to our students and staff and get their applications in before the deadline passes. We are usually over-subscribed, so beating the deadline is crucial.”

As well as finding out about our courses, there will be information about enrichment options and support services at the College. This includes guidance on careers, student welfare, financial support and much more. Representatives from three universities will be present to offer advice on progressing to Higher Education after College – they will be from the University of Birmingham, the University of Leicester and Birmingham City University.
