Busy Bees Childcare Talk — Solihull Sixth Form College

Busy Bees Childcare Talk

Childcare students at Solihull Sixth Form College received invaluable careers advice recently when a representative of a local nursery came onto campus to deliver a talk.

Hannah Bagshaw, Centre Director from Busy Bees Nursery, visited campus to talk to our first year CACHE Childcare & Education students. With many learners on this course looking to work in the Early Years sector, she had invaluable advice on what it’s like to work in a nursery setting and advice for their future careers. She also gave an insight to different graduate and employment opportunities once students complete their studies.

The CACHE Childcare & Education course involves a significant work placement, with 750 hours of work experience accrued during the two years of study and many learners seek out placements at nurseries and primary schools.

Nosheen Hamid, Assistant Curriculum Leader for Sport & Health, commented:

“We are very grateful to Hannah and Busy Bees Nursery for supporting our students’ learning. Insights from professionals within the Early Years sector are invaluable to our learners, not least because it can significantly influence their career ambitions.”
