Parent Governor

I am owner and CEO of Equilibrium Security - a cyber security company based in Birmingham. My history of working in a variety of IT-related industries – in roles that have been technical, commercial and now owner/board level – places me in a position in which I feel I can bring a lot to the role of Parent Governor for Solihull Sixth Form College. Having seen the work that the Summit Learning Trust does - through a fantastic awards evening at the University of Birmingham - I knew I wanted to be a part of the Trust. 

During the last 12 years of running Equilibrium, I have had the experience of working hard to ensure that a good ethos and culture in my organisation prevails and through this we’ve experienced some good years of success. The recent years have not been without their challenges and it is here where I’ve experienced the most personal growth. I am looking to share these experiences and learn from other learners and staff members in this role. I genuinely enjoy dealing with all sorts of people and organisations and my personality and experience means I can bring a lot to the role. 

As parents to two teenage daughters, my wife and I have jointly navigated a number of challenges that come with parenting teens, from the social pressures, mental health challenges and working hard to raise daughters to believe they can achieve the most from their potential - both personally and academically.
