Exam Service

The College has a dedicated Exams Office, with staff who ensure examinations are efficiently organised and exam results are promptly delivered to students. They are also on hand to help students with any queries they may have about exams and to organise copies of exam scripts and re-takes if necessary.

Examination Contingency Days for 2026

Reminder to all Candidates sitting any formal examinations in May or June, that the Awarding Organisations have agreed a ‘contingency day’ which is as follows: 

Wednesday 24 June 2026

This contingency date has been set aside to address any national or local disruption which may arise during the Summer 2026 examinations series. Consequently, it is advised that candidates do not plan a holiday or be at any distance from college until after 24th June 2026.

Post Results Service - For Examinations sat in January 2026

BTEC results for the January exam series will be available on the Student Portal from 8.00am on Thursday 19th March.

Please take your time to look carefully at your grades and consider your next steps. If you are unsure about what your result means, or whether a re-sit is the right option for you, your BTEC teacher is the best person to speak to first.

Following consultation with your subject teacher, should you wish to undertake a Post Results Enquiry, please fill in the request form (deadline 13:00, 15 April 2026). Payment will need to be made via ParentPay before we can process any requests.

Re-sitting an Exam taken in January 2026

If you decide you would like to re-sit an examined unit which you sat in January 2026, please complete the following form:

If you are required to pay for your re-sit, a fee of £50.00 per examined unit must be paid through ParentPay:

Both the form and payment must be submitted no later than 1.00pm on Wednesday 25th March.
Entries cannot be guaranteed if either the form or payment is received after this deadline.

Late Requests

Any requests received after the deadlines above may still be processed, but they will be subject to a late entry fee of £100 per examined unit (standard £50 fee + 100% late fee).

Re-sitting an Exam taken in Summer 2025

To request a re-sit for an examined unit which you sat in Summer 2025, please complete this form:

These re-sits also require payment of £50.00 per examined unit, made via ParentPay:

The form and payment must be completed by 1.00pm on Wednesday 18th March to meet the Awarding Body (Pearson) deadline.
Again, we cannot guarantee entry if either requirement is late.

GCSE Re-sit Enquiries for Summer 2026 exam series

The application deadline for GCSE re-sits has now passed. There will be additional fee’s applicable from 01 February 2026.

Any candidate who wishes to re-sit their GCSE English Language or GCSE Mathematics qualification must email [email protected] to obtain a re-sit form and payment link.

External Candidate Re-sit Exam Entry Criteria for 2026

The application deadline for External Candidate re-sits has now passed. There will be additional fee’s applicable from 01 February 2026.

External candidates who wish to re-sit examinations in summer 2026 will need to seek approval of a member of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT). They are only permitted to re-sit a subject which they sat in Summer 2025, and they have previously studied at this College. They must also qualify under the following circumstances:

  • Exemplary student record
  • Over 90% attendance whilst on previous course
  • Missed a university place.
  • Are Not allowed to re-sit coursework units.

Once they have written approval from a member of SLT, they can apply to the Exams Office for an External Candidate re-sit form. They must email [email protected] to obtain a re-sit form and payment link.

The JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) documents shown below should be read before candidates take external exams at this centre. It is also recommended that the College’s own exam arrangement document be read so that candidates are fully prepared.

Certificates

Obtaining Certificates

For students who finished their courses in Summer 2025, certificates will be ready for either collection or postage after 01st December 2025.

If you wish to have your certificates posted, please visit the ParentPay website and pay £6.00 via card payment and the exams office will post your certificates by first class recorded delivery.

* Please be aware that you cannot collect your certificates without arranging an appointment.
** We are unable to offer certificate collection or arrange postage during college holiday periods.

Certificates will only be held for up to 2 years from the year you completed your studies, after which time they will be destroyed.

Lost/Replacement Certificates

In the unfortunate event that exam certificates are lost or need to be replaced, students will need to apply directly to the Awarding Bodies for replacement statement of results at a cost of approximately £40. Listed below are the direct links to Awarding Body Websites.
