UK Feminista Action Award

The Summit Learning Trust has been awarded a UK Feminista Action Award in recognition of the decisive action we have taken, and continue to take, to address sexism and sexual harassment in all its forms.

Learners and colleagues from across our Summit family, including from Solihull Sixth Form College, received the award from coveted television presenter, Samira Ahmed, at an award ceremony in London recently. Learners from Cockshut Hill School, Lyndon School and Ninestiles, an Academy were also present with their teachers.

This cross-trust work has involved colleagues and learners from across our family, working in partnership with external organisations and politicians to address issues brought to our attention by Summit learners. In particular, learners focussed on how to ensure safe travel to and from their academies and pitched ideas to Safer Travel at West Midlands Police and to Jess Phillips MP.
