Open Invitation to Open Evening in November

Solihull Sixth Form College is inviting prospective students and their families to the first of two open evenings this academic year.

Open Evening is being held on Wednesday 26 November from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, with final entry time of 7:00pm. Free timed-entry tickets are available from Eventbrite, HERE

Visitors will have the chance to explore the College’s impressive facilities and learn about its wide selection of A level, BTEC, and T level courses. Staff and current students from all subject areas will be on hand to answer questions and help guests make informed decisions about their post-16 education.

Principal Martin Sullivan will deliver talks at 6:00pm and 7:00pm, offering insights into the College’s learning environment. This includes information about the academic success our learners achieve – last year 75% of A level grades were A*-C, while 85% of BTEC results were high grades and 92% at T level.

Support staff will also be available to discuss the extensive pastoral and academic support offered, including academic coaching, additional learning support, careers advice, mental health and wellbeing resources, enrichment opportunities, and financial assistance. In addition, representatives from Aston University, Birmingham City University, and the University of Leicester will be present to provide guidance on higher education pathways beyond college, with approximately 75% of learners choosing to progress onto university each year.

College Principal Martin Sullivan commented:

“We held an Open Day in October and saw thousands of visitors coming through our doors, highlighting just how popular Solihull Sixth Form College is as a post-16 destination. This upcoming event offers another valuable opportunity for Year 11 students and their families to explore what makes our College so highly regarded. Visitors will meet passionate and knowledgeable students and speak with expert teachers who are dedicated to helping learners thrive.”

For those who cannot make it to this event, a second open evening is scheduled to take place on Thursday 22 January 2026 (5.00 – 8.00pm). Tickets for this event are also available now.
