Media Learners Get BBC Taster Experience

Two Creative Media learners at Solihull Sixth Form College recently took part in the BBC’s exciting ‘GET IN’ Taster Experience – a programme designed to help young people explore career paths in media, broadcasting, and digital industries.

Joe Grimley and Alesha Waters represented the College during this immersive experience, which offered participants the chance to learn about the media industry, explore the wide range of job roles available at the BBC, and develop hands-on skills in a real studio setting. The programme also provided valuable insights into the BBC apprenticeship application process.

Joe commented:

“I hadn’t really considered radio as a career option before, but this experience reignited my interest in it. It’s definitely something I’ll be looking into more seriously now.”

Alesha added:

“It was a fantastic experience and I’d recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about the industry. It really opened my eyes to the possibilities.”

Media & IT Curriculum Leader Rasbinder Gill said:

“We’re incredibly proud of Joe and Alesha for embracing this opportunity and representing the College so positively. The BBC’s ‘GET IN’ programme is a brilliant way for learners to gain real-world insight into the media industry and explore future career options.”
