Historians from Solihull Sixth Form College were able to handle important historical documents on a fieldtrip to London last week.

Year 13 A level History learners participated in interactive workshops at the National Archives. One session focused on examining primary evidence to determine whether there was a 'Crisis in the Reign of Mary I', while another explored documents related to 'Russia in Revolution'. Students had the rare opportunity to handle original materials as part of these activities.

Humanities Curriculum Leader Beccy Clay commented:

"The National Archive is a fantastic resource, safeguarding priceless historical documents from history and enabling people to build an accurate understanding of the past. It was a fantastic opportunity for our young people to engage in workshops that will significantly aid their studies."
