First Football Team Win League Title

The Football Team at Solihull Sixth Form College is celebrating winning the ECFA West Midlands Men's League C title this season, which is a league title run by the AoC (Association of Colleges).

The Men's First Football, captained by Kaylum Boulton, have won nine of their ten matches this season, scoring 45 goals along the way. Highlights include an 8-2 victory over Kidderminster College and 5-1 wins against Sandwell College and Newcastle College. Top scorer this season has been Sam Farrell with 21 goals.

Sports Activities Co-ordinator Michael Westmacott commented:

"Hard work, dedication and a good team spirit have been rewarded this season. The players have performed to a consistently high level and they deserve their success."

Sport & Health Curriculum Leader Lee Jones added:

"Our performance sports squads have a great track record of success, with silverware for football, netball, basketball and rugby in recent years. Congratulations to the First Football team on adding more silverware to the trophy cabinet this year."
