A level, BTEC & T level Success on Results Day 2025
Learners at Solihull Sixth Form College are celebrating superb results on A level, BTEC and T level courses today, with more than 76% of grades A*-C at A level and 85% of BTEC grades at Distinction or above.
The College is part of Summit Learning Trust and has seen academic standards steadily rising in recent years. Students came into College on Results day to talk to reports from Channel 5 News.
Among the many successes this year are students who have earned Oxbridge places. This includes Dan Martin, who achieved two A* grades and one A in A level Politics, German and History and has earned a place the University of Cambridge to study Modern and Medieval Languages. Eliza Hamid also achieved success, with her two A* grades and one A in A level Biology, Geology and Chemistry enough to earn her a place at the University of Oxford to continue her Biology studies.
Away from Oxbridge, Danny Morris is taking up a place at Durham University to study Politics and International Relations after achieving all A* grades in A level Law, Politics and History. Meanwhile Megan Kelly is progressing to the University of Sheffield to study Biological Sciences after receiving all A and A* grades in A level Mathematics, Biology and Fine Art.
Dr Martin Sullivan, Principal of the College, commented:
“It’s been a great year for Solihull Sixth Form College and it’s gratifying to see our clear upward trajectory continuing. I am very proud of all our young people for the hard work they have put into achieving these results, as well as our staff members who have supported learners so diligently. The majority of our students are progressing onto university, and whatever their next challenge - higher education, apprenticeship or employment - we wish them the best of luck and are delighted we were able to help them achieve the grades needed to forge a successful future career.”
Vince Green, Chief Executive Officer of Summit Learning Trust, added:
“It is amazing to see young people from our college achieve even stronger results than the brilliant, record outcomes achieved in 2024. These will give this cohort of Summit learners great life chances now and in future years. Congratulations to them all, and huge thanks to our amazing Summit colleagues for all their hard work in preparing and supporting our young people.”
