Visual Arts — Solihull Sixth Form College

Visual Arts

Photo ShootThe Sixth Form College, Solihull is a fantastic choice for a budding artist. With a dedicated Art & Design School built to provide would-be Art students with all the facilities they could possibly need, not to mention a great choice of courses, the College provides an environment for creative students to shine. We offer a choice of both A level and BTEC courses as follows:

A level Fine Art
A level Graphics
A level Photography
BTEC Art & Design

While all these courses involve some study of the theory behind Art, there is a strong emphasis on the practical side of creating art and the department operates an open door policy to support students to come in and work on their portfolios whenever they have the time to do so. Students are encouraged to produce a large portfolio of work, demonstrating a range of practical skills that they will have developed during the course. This work is celebrated with an end-of-year exhibition and prize-giving.

There is also the chance for students on all our Visual Arts courses to take part in trips and visits, including an annual trip abroad. This will be to a major European city, where students can study the art, architecture and culture of that city. In the past, these trips have been to Paris, Rome, Barcelona and Berlin and have included visits to museums and galleries of repute.

If you are interested in studying any of our Visual Arts courses, apply now for a September 2017 start.
