Talented artists and designers at The Sixth Form College, Solihull showed off their work last week as the annual Visual Arts Exhibition took place.
Artwork from all three A level courses – Fine Art, Graphics and Photography – as well as the BTEC Extended Diploma in Art & Design was on display for students, staff, friends and family to view. There was work from every student represented and prizes were given out for each course to students that staff considered most deserving, whether it be for achievement or effort.
Creative Arts Curriculum Leader Zoe Maksymiw commented:
“I’m really proud of the standard of work our students have produced. The exhibition spanned three floors of the Art & Design School and showed the huge variety of work our students produce and the different things that influence them in their artwork. It’s been a great year.”
Some of the work on display was work produced to a brief and deadline. Every students in the Visual Arts department has had a live brief project to work on this year, which sees them fulfilling a client’s brief over the space of 4 weeks to replicate what it would be like to work as a freelance artist or designer.
