Staff at The Sixth Form College, Solihull have raised more than £890 (more than £1,000 with Gift Aid) for a children’s hospice charity, after running as a team in the Knowle Fun Run.
The team, calling themselves Solihull Sixth Form Striders, consisted of just under 20 members of staff. Staff run 5km or 10km and chose the charity Julia’s House, a children’s hospice charity, as the recipient of their fundraising. They set a target of raising £250 for Julia’s House children’s hospice, but thanks to the generosity of friends, family and colleagues that target has been smashed more than three times over.
Vice Principal Jamie Staddon, one of the runners, commented:
“It was a great team effort and wonderful to see so many staff coming together for a good cause. We are grateful to those staff who helped organise everyone for this charity run and to all our friends, family and colleagues for their donations, which certainly motivated us on the day.”
Anyone wishing to donate to this fundraising effort is still able to do so via a Just Giving page.
