PPE Equipment Donated

Solihull Sixth Form College is doing its bit to help with the fight against Covid-19.

We were contacted by charity BCOP (Broadening Choice for Older People), who asked if we had any personal protective Equipment (PPE) going spare. They offered to purchase anything we had for use in their nursing homes, but of course the College is happy to donate the items we have free of charge. These items include goggles and protective glasses that our Biology, Chemistry and Applied Science students for their practical work.

Lead Science Technician Svetlana Strazdina picked up the equipment from College and delivered it to Anita Stone Court, one of the nursing homes run by BCOP.

At this incredibly difficult time, we must all come together as a community to help where we can and if this donation helps to protect the dedicated care workers risking their health to help those in need of health and social care.

The College has a lot of students who are interested in working in the health and social care field, with two BTEC Health & Social Care courses running at the College. You can find out more about these courses by visiting our BTEC Extended Diploma and BTEC Subsidiary Diploma pages.
