Drama students at Solihull Sixth Form College showed off their physical theatre skills this week by performing works from renowned physical theatre practitioner Steven Berkoff.
The first year A level Drama students put on this showcase to put on performances combining elements of sound, physicality and minimalist design to recreate Kafta’s absurdist world on stage. The students broke into three groups for the Showcase, with two groups performing extracts from “The Trial” and one group performing a section from “Metamorphosis”.
Drama teacher Nadia Kouhi commented:
“Physical theatre gives the students a lot of range for creativity and they have risen to the challenge to produce great interpretations of Berkoff’s work. They have worked very hard to make these performances the best they can be and performing them in front of friends and family was a useful exercise in helping them hone their performances.”
