New Student Council Appointed

A new Student Council Executive has been elected for the 2021/22 academic year, following a rigorous interview process.

Student Council Chair Janvie (Joy) Miah was joined by one of the Student Development Officers, a member of senior leadership at the College and a member of leadership from the Summit Learning Trust to hear presentations from Year 12 students vying to be selected for the Executive this year. The successful students and the posts they have been appointed to are as follows:

Daisy Maskell: Vice Chair
Aisha Abdullah: Deputy Vice Chair
Paige Thompson: Treasurer
Elyse Daley Gooden: Voice Officer
Nyal Hussain: Voice Officer
Mohammed Mahdy: Voice Officer
Eryn Bloom: Charity Officer
Mahira Rahman: Events Officer
Ruqayyah Ali: Publicity Officer
Shiza Adeel: Student Ambassador
Zavira Salahudeen: Student Ambassador
Ibrahim Elmi: Student Ambassador
Fartun Abdulahi: Student Ambassador

Associate Assistant Principal Anisa Lokat-Fanning was part of the panel that students presented to. She commented:

“Well done to all the students who set themselves the challenge of applying to be part of the Student Council Executive. It is a significant responsibility for students to represent their peers as part of the Student Council and I look forward to working with the newly elected Council this year.”

Student Council Chair Janvie (Joy) Miah added:

“We had a lot of brilliant applications this year, but these students really stood out. They were particularly passionate and showed a strong set of skills. I look forward to working with them.”
