More than a dozen former students visited the College this term for a Modern Languages Reunion.
The get-together included a student who left as far back as 2009, as well as many more recent students. They caught up with each other and with staff to share tales of what they have been doing since leaving the College. One student has been working with refugees in France, another is now living and working in Spain, another had had a wonderful year abroad in Russia.
Curriculum Leader Beverley Hodson commented:
“It was brilliant to hear news of students and all their travels abroad. Lots of students are planning their year abroad in Montpellier, Salamanca, Lyon, Moscow, Italy, Japan! One student has now got a job teaching in Moscow. So many young people leading such exciting lives!”
Following on from the reunion, four former Modern Languages students came in to talk to Year 12 French students about their experiences at university. They were Tashanna Henry (who is studying French and French Business at Nottingham Trent University), Esther Hurst (who is at Cambridge University studying French and Spanish), Lucas Araujo (who is at Coventry University studying French and International Affairs) and Anie Hussain (who is at York University studying History with French). Lucas and Anie have both just returned from the year abroad; Lucas was at Strasbourg University and Anie was at the Sorbonne in France. They gave a talk, showing pictures of their time abroad. The Year 12 students had lots of questions for them.
