Photography students at The Sixth Form College, Solihull visited the Mac in Birmingham last week for the Responding to a Landscape Symposium.
The A level Photography students visited this exhibition to hear from professional artists and photographers, who discussed their work. The symposium invited acclaimed photographers, artists, writers and photography historians to talk about their work and the relationship with the landscape. Students learnt about a range of photographic practices and techniques, which are at the cutting edge of photography.
Students also got the opportunity to view the exhibition Matthew Murray’s Saddleworth; Responding to a Landscape, which premiered at the Mac, Birmingham.
Creative Arts Curriculum Leader, Zoe Maksymiw commented:
“It was an inspiring event. I’m looking forward to seeing how the events will inform and inspire the students’ coursework.”
