Lyndon Science Taster Day

Year 11 girls from Lyndon School visited the College in December for a Science Taster Day.

Attending sessions in Chemistry and Physics, the girls heard about the options open to them at A level and BTEC and participated in a range of practical sessions, including experiments related to electrolysis and properties of waves.

The day provided a good opportunity for colleagues from the Summit Learning Trust to work together to show one possible progression route from a Trust secondary school to the Trust sixth form college.

College Assistant Principal Oona Stone commented:

“We were delighted to welcome staff and students from Lyndon School onto campus. The girls enjoyed the activities we set them and got a great insight into advanced level study in Science. It was great to hear they have all made applications to college and I hope many of these students will be enrolling next September. I look forward to working more closely with Lyndon Science department in the future.”
