Childcare & Education students at Solihull Sixth Form College are celebrating outstanding results, after the combined grades were confirmed.
Every student completing their studies this year on the CACHE Childcare & Education Diploma achieved an A or A* grade overall, with 88% of them getting the very top grade. This success carries on from outstanding achievement last year too, when again all students achieved A and A* grades.
Earlier this year, when the Department for Education School and Further Education performance tables for 2018-19 were published, they showed that this course saw the highest outcomes in England on technical courses across the whole high performing sixth form sector. This year’s achievements are a continuation of that success.
Assistant Curriculum Leader Nosheen Hamid commented:
“We’re so proud of our students for their hard work and dedication and these results are just reward for their efforts.”
The CACHE Childcare & Education Diploma has a strong work placement element. Students participate in placements, with 750 hours completed in vocationally appropriate settings. This may include work in nurseries and primary schools. Students moving on from College are progressing into Primary Education and Paediatric Nursing courses at university, while some plan to go straight into Childcare employment.
College Principal Martin Sullivan added:
“I’m delighted, but not surprised, to see the highest standards achieved on our Childcare & Education course are being maintained. I offer my warmest congratulations to the students and wish them well for the future. I also want to highlight the magnificent work our Childcare staff have done and congratulate them for these outstanding results.”
