The Creative Arts department at The Sixth Form College, Solihull is holding a series of twilight taster sessions this autumn to let young people try their courses before applying to college.
Taster sessions are available in A level Dance, A level Music and the A level and BTEC Visual Arts courses. The latter encompasses A level Fine Art, Graphics, Photography and BTEC Art & Design. Dates and times for these tasters are as follows:
Dance – Tuesday 14 November (4.30 – 5.30pm)
Visual Arts – Wednesday 15 November (4.30 – 5.00pm)
Music – Wednesday 22 November (5.00 – 6.00pm)
The Creative Arts Curriculum Leader is Zoe Maksymiw. She said:
“Choosing what courses to do after GCSE is a big decision and we want to make sure that young people have all the information to make the right decisions for them. We will be telling prospective students and parents all about these courses at Open Day on Saturday 7 October, but there really is no substitute for trying the course first hand, so I urge anyone who is interested to sign up as soon as possible.”
Prospective students can sign up by emailing Marketing and including their name, the school they are currently at and which taster session they are interested in. The deadline to sign up is Friday 10 November, so that teachers have time to plan these tasters with the numbers participating in mind.
