The Sixth Form College, Solihull offers three Social Sciences courses at A level. These courses are all related to everyday life and society and, as such, are both interested and relevant, but also highly valued by employers and universities alike. Some of these courses involve trips both in the UK and abroad, such as a Politics trip to London and to Washington DC in the United States. Read more about each course:
Students in all three courses also have the opportunity to apply to join a specialist enrichment known as the Social Sciences Academy. This is a great option for those students who want to continue their studies at university in a related field, because it demonstrates a real commitment to this area of study. Being part of the Social Sciences Academy gives students the opportunity to take part in masterclasses at university, including at the Universities of Birmingham and Leicester. They can also complete an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which is a piece of private research of their choice, which is graded like an A level and generates UCAS points to count towards a university application.
If you are interested in studying any of our Social Science subjects as part of an A level programme, apply now for a September 2017 start.
