Sport and Leisure
The College is proud of its sporting programme. We have helped to nurture some very talented athletes over the years that have achieved success, thanks to the excellent teaching and superb facilities at the College. As well as those students studying A Level Physical Education and Level 3 National in Sport (Development, Coaching & Fitness), sport is offered as an enrichment option.
Enrichment is the activities that the College offers for students to participate alongside their programme of studies. It does not have to be sporting in nature, but for those so inclined there is a huge choice of competitive and recreational activities to join in with.
Sports that students can participate in range from football and rugby to hockey and basketball and our teams do well in local leagues and national competitions.
For those participating for purely recreational reasons, the College caters for that via a range of enrichment options, including indoor football, badminton, squash, table tennis, outdoor basketball, tennis and aerobics.
More challenging enrichment options include the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, with students going on expeditions and working towards their Gold Awards.
The most recent addition to the College's sporting provision is a brand new Fitness Suite, which boasts top of the range equipment to help students stay fit. Use of this equipment, which includes rowing machines, exercise bikes and weights, is available after an induction session and health check. The Suite is then available for students to use in their spare time.
The Sports Centre offers full disabled access.
