Bursaries
Finance for Students in Need
What we will do now EMA is gone
Following the end of Educational Maintenance Allowance, the government has given colleges smaller sums of money to distribute to students in need. Like other colleges, we will distribute this through a bursary scheme to ensure fairness.
College Bursaries - Key Points
- Currently, the level of government funding allows the College to offer bursaries on a sliding scale for those whose household income is below £20,000.
- The minimum payment to a student (including bonuses for attendance and good conduct) would be approximately £300 a year.
- For those at most disadvantage, payments could be as high as £660 a year.
- We also offer a small number of exceptional bursaries for very vulnerable students, which can be up to £1,200 per year.
- All students are given information on how to apply for a bursary at enrolment.
