The Sixth Form College, Solihull is celebrating offers from Oxbridge, with five students aiming for these top university places.

Competition is fierce for offers from the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge and students must go through a demanding interview process. Three of the College’s outstanding A level students have got offers from Oxford and two have offers to study at Cambridge.
Two of the students have offers to study Engineering. One of those students is Rory Bennett, who will hope to take up a place at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge. The former Tudor Grange School pupil is currently studying A level Chemistry, German, Mathematics, Further Maths and Physics.

College Principal Paul Ashdown said, “This is excellent news and I’m really proud of Rory, George, Daniel, Lauren and Hannah. They put themselves through a very gruelling ordeal in making an Oxbridge application, but the College prides itself on the support we offer students who want to take on this challenge. They are aiming for the very best in the world and competing at the highest international level.
“We always try to make sure that every candidate is as fully prepared as possible, and this year we arranged mock-interviews at Birmingham University for many of our applicants. It’s gratifying to see that hard work rewarded and I congratulate the students for this achievement.”
As well as these five students, the College is helping hundreds more students gain university places, with many expected to progress to other prestigious universities all over the country.
