Both the first and second teams took part in the competition, which was held at Solihull School, but it was the second team that came out on top in their groups. They played six games, winning four, drawing one and losing one. Most notably, they defeated Solihull School 4-2 and that result proved decisive as they, too, won four, drew one and lost one, but ended up coming second on goal difference.

Claire Hicks said, “The second team put in a great performance in the tournament, with particularly outstanding contributions from Georgia Adderley, Hazel Nyachowe and Eve Walton.”

The first team won two of their six matches and drew another, which secured them third place in the tournament. Their biggest win was a 10-2 success over King Edward’s Stourbridge and they also enjoyed a 6-6 draw with the eventual winners Worcester Sixth Form College, becoming the only team in the tournament to come away with anything against the winners.

Claire Hicks added, “The first team played very well and it was really encouraging to see them beating teams that they had previously lost to in league games played earlier in the season. We must praise Leah Moseley for her outstanding performance in the tournament as well as throughout the two years she has represented the College for Netball.”
