Rugby Sevens Triumph

The Sixth Form College, Solihull rugby team have won the Birmingham Invitational Sevens Tournament this week.
The College Rugby Sevens team beat King Edwards 42-7 and Aston 24-12 to progress into the Final on Wednesday. That final match saw the College team defeat King Edwards Camp Hill 21-12 to claim the silverware.
John Hudson, Head of Sport at the College and the Rugby Sevens Coach commented, "It was a great all round team effort by the 12-man squad. The entire squad worked hard and they deserve this success.
"We hope for more success on the sports fields this year. The first and second football teams are well placed, as both are top of their respective leagues and the first team is unbeaten for the season."
Recent results saw the first team playing for the first time in 11 weeks on Wednesday, as they beat Sandwell College 10-3. A great team effort saw nine different goal scorers - Wade Jolley, Jonathan Scott, Simon Graham, Lewis Theodorou, Charlie Rodman, Jon Stanley (2 goals), Joel Bate, Chris Shovlin and Joe Ridley.
Meanwhile, the second team beat Warwickshire College 2-1, with goals from David Takyi and Jared Iwenofu.
