The Sixth Form College, Solihull’s first football team will head into 2010 with a 100% record in their league.

Their most recent success was an 8-2 thrashing of Cadbury College on Wednesday. Joel Bate scored four of those eight goals and shared the Man of the Match award with fellow scorer Jon Stanley, who put in an outstanding performance. The other goals came from Chris Shovlin (2 goals) and Nathan Archer as the team finished off the year in fine style.

The College second team is also enjoying a fruitful year. They are top of their division as well, thanks in no small part to a 5-1 win over Sutton College on Wednesday. Man of the Match Nic Turvey bagged a hatrick, with other goals coming from David Tayki and Josh Kelly.

Football Coach at the College, Jez Ingram, is proud of his team’s success. “Both teams have had a great start to the 2009-2010 season. They’ve worked hard, shown real team-work and got their rewards. We hope to keep it up for the remainder of the season.”

They will be hoping to emulate last year's team (pictured above) who finished the season with silverware.
