Group 2: Italian

No previous knowledge of Italian is required. The course will enable you to develop all four language skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) to a good level of competence. By the end of the course, you will be able to apply these skills to a wide range of topics and contexts, including the individual, education, transport and communication, shopping, food and drink, leisure, environment, and emergencies.

As well as using a wide range of written texts, you will also work on video and audio materials in our multi-media language labs. You will be involved in a range of activities, such as role play, interviews, film study and writing messages, letters and reports. You will also have small group conversation sessions with our Italian assistant, and are encouraged to take part in the exchange with our Italian partner school in the Veneto, and/or to take up the opportunity of a week's work experience placement in Italy.
